For many of us, the recession has meant a return to a lot of unwelcome things: chief among them stock market crashes, holidays at home ("staycations") and a crashing pound against the euro. On the other hand it has meant that simple, classic essentials are suddenly very important. We've returned to one of the latter.

It's been renamed the La Spaziale "Special" but it's a re-release of the classic La Spaziale espresso machine which was being sold here and in Italy years ago. La Spaziale have brought it out here as a cheaper alternative to our popular S5 series, for those who want the quality of a La Spaziale espresso machine but for whom budgets are tighter in this current climate.

It has the old school classic Italian mould.. It doesn't have the digital thermostats or boiler temperature control of the S5 series, but crucially it's still a La Spaziale and otherwize exactly the same internally. It's allowed us to sell them at prices much more like in the days when the pound was aloft against the euro and everyone was feeling more optomistic (we really miss those days by the way).
